Let’s forget for the time being about any jobs being outsourced. Where are some customer service jobs that pay enough for you to at least make ends meet ?
I ran through Craigslist the past few days under their customer service section and here are some of the positions I found. Most of them are not what you would call careers.
Would you like to be one of the following:
Online Customer Service/ Hayward
There are over a dozen requirements one of which is assist in online store promotions via social networking media.
There is also another requirement that states working hours will be informed by the supervisor weekly.
There is no mention of salary.
Repossession Agency Customer Service Representative/Vallejo
The pay here is $11 an hour.
After the requirements it mentions There will be up to a 2 week trial period with no guarantee of continued employment.
Dog Handlers/Emeryville
For ten bucks an hour among other things you will do A LOT of cleaning.
Project Coordinator/Fremont
One of the higher paid jobs, $14 an hour. This position requires you to enter Fire losses, Mold losses, & Water damages.
Newspaper Delivery Sf Chronicle/Alameda
No more paperboys or papergirls getting tips, this is on a per piece rate. They do need people now.
Exceptional Customer Service Representatives/Dublin
Among the ten qualities are: You recognize that you are an integral player within a collaborative team, striving for the same goals. For this and more you will get between $9 and $13 per hour. Depending on experience of course.
Customer Service Representative/Oakland
For $9 to $11 per hour you will need to meet lots of requirements and qualifications including the critical: Have a “whatever it takes” attitude toward customer satisfaction, apartment quality, and customer expectation.
Considering the salary and requirements, these positions base pay is not much better than staying on unemployment. But if you are a 99er or in need of a job, these may not exactly be your dream job, but it will bring in some money.
Of course you can always call Meg Whitman and see if she still needs a housekeeper for $23 an hour.
