Just two weeks ago, linebacker Patrick Bailey was a member of the Steelers before being cut when the team trimmed its roster to the final 53. The Titans picked him up because he’s a good special teams player.
Bailey had one special-teams tackle last week against the Raiders.
TWO TITANS FINED BY NFL
The NFL fined defensive tackle Jovan Haye $5,000 for a facemask penalty last week. The 15-yard penalty followed Haye’s tackle of Raiders running back Michael Bennett. Haye said he’s not going to appeal the fine.
The league office also fined middle linebacker Stephen Tulluch $7,500 for a horse-collar tackle last week against the Raiders.
Four Titans in all, including Tulloch and Haye, received 15-yard penalties. Defensive ends Derrick Morgan (low hit) and Dave Ball (helmet-to-helmet) were not fined.
JOHNSON LOOKING FOR # 13
Titans running back Chris Johnson as rushed for over 100 yards in 12 consecutive games dating back to last season, and needs just 2 more to tie the NFL record of 14 consecutive games currently held by Hall of Fame back Barry Sanders.
Johnson however, in two previous attempts against the Steelers has yet to reach 100 yards against the Steelers, or even 70 yards for that matter.
Johnson had 69 yards in 2008 and 57 yards in 2009 in his only two games against Pittsburgh.
The Steelers have allowed just four 100-yard rushers against them over the last five-plus seasons, Johnson hopes to be number five.
His abliity to reach that mark will be a big part of who wins this contest. If Johnson reaches 100 yards, then the Titans will likely win, if not then it could be very tough.
