According to the Department of Health and Human Services, which is one of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 40,820 women died from breast cancer in 2006. In 2009, an estimated 192,370 new cases of invasive breast cancer was diagnosed among women in the United States. This year, 1 in 8 women in the US are estimated to be diagnosed with this deadly disease, while in the 1960s breast cancer risk was 1 in 20. A significant body of evidence says that environmental toxicity, carcinogens found in pesticides, herbicides, plastics, and other toxic chemicals are contributing to the alarming increase in cancer cases number, but the only well known way to most successfully fight it is early detection. October is the Breast Cancer Awareness month.
ONEHOPE Wine, a company built on the cornerstone of creating high-quality, affordable wines and donating 50 percent of profits to a variety of causes, is launching the campaign 1 IN 8 WOMEN to donate $100,000 to provide more than 1,000 mammograms to women in need. This is in addition to the 300,000 that ONEHOPE Wine has already donated as a company and as a foundation. For each bottle of ONEHOPE Wine purchased, 50 percent of the profits stemming from that sale are donated directly to the ONEHOPE Foundation. In turn, the foundation donates 100 percent of proceeds to partner charities including the National Breast Cancer Foundation, American Forest Foundation and Snowball Express, which helps support families of fallen troops.
Every variety of wine is dedicated to a different cause so fifty percent of profits from the sale of ONEHOPE Chardonnay go to support the National Breast Cancer Foundation whose focus is on education, prevention from early detection and treatment of breast cancer. This Chardonnay is blended with Muscat and Chenin Blanc displaying a pale gold color with aromas of fresh apple blossom and honeysuckle. Its flavors of crisp fresh pear and apple are vibrant on the palate. It has balanced oak and bright acidity.
