Is it the guys versus the women on the Biggest Loser? It would seem so if tonight’s episode is any indicator.
After a very tough elimination ceremony, Tina and Lisa breaks down in front of their fellow contestants and decided that they should go home and finish their journeys. Outraged, the men decided that someway somehow, they would do their best to keep each other on the Ranch so they can finish their journey and be one step closer to the $250k grand prize.
The contestants were taken away to a tennis court were they were met by tennis superstar Anna Kournikova. Kournikova shows the contestants how to get a great workout by drills and learning how to return the balls quickly. Most were please with the knowledge that tennis is not just a “social activity” for the rich, but a viable workout.
After they said their goodbyes to Anna, (Brendan held on longer that the others), they learned what their first pop challenge was.
Each contestant had to retrieve on of the many balls on the court and run up the bleachers and place the ball in another contestant’s tube until their tube reaches 25 balls total. Once the mark is reach, that person will be eliminated and no longer in the running for the first prize, immunity.
The men had an early lead, going after the women, (obviously), and taking out each player until there was only two left. In the end, it was Boston [Brendan], vs. New York [Frado]; Frado won the pop challenge and was safe from elimination.
Later on, the contestants began a rigorous workout. Bob Harper and Jesse ended up having an argument which Bob manage to take out on all of the contestants. Afterwards, realizing his actions were inappropriate, Jesse apologized to Bob.
Just like last week, the contestants were surprised with a weigh in which produced low numbers after a very successful weigh in last week. The Yellow Line was also prevalent as the contestants found out that half of the contestants will fall below that line and be at risk of leaving the Ranch.
So who fell below the yellow line?
Burgandy, Elizabeth, Lisa, Tina, Sophia, Aaron & Brendan fell below that line and had to face the challenge the next day.
[Adam had the highest percentage of weight loss and chose Aaron to be safe from the challenge and elimination.]
The final challenge before the elimination ceremony was for the contestants who fell below the line to dig out a brass ring under 175 ton of sand. There are only 4 rings which leave 2 contestants up for possible elimination. In the end, the main two women who were complaining and wished to go home were the only two up for elimination, Tina and Lisa. Unfortunately, Tina was sent home, but it was obvious that was where her heart was.
So how did Tina do once she returned home and did she keep her word of actually “finishing” the challenge at home? Yes she did, not only did she return home and loss a combine total of 58 pounds, but she also paid it forward and made sure her daughter tagged along for the ride and managed to lose an astonishing 85 pounds. Way to go ladies, keep up the great work?
