I am so happy to report that this blog will now be up and running EVERY DAY! If you have specific wedding questions or challenges you would like some help with, please feel free to ask them here and a response will be posted in twenty-four hours!
I have worked hard on putting together the next three months of blog posts and have some wonderful things to share with you to help make your day go smoother and be the most perfect day imaginable for you.
First off – the fall season is underway and what a perfect time of year to include chocolate in your wedding. Now, while practically every woman feels chocolate is perfect all year round, it is not really condusive to the warmer weather months such as late spring and early autumn. Chocolate does not ‘set up’ well in warmer temperatures and seems a bit heavy for the lightness of the spring and summer. Fall and winter are the perfect times to include chocolate as part of your reception here in Central New York.
Foget messy chocolate fountains and start thinking of ways to use chocolate in chic, elegant ways. For instances, welcome your guests to your reception or as a gracious way to end the evening with mini-cups of hot chocolate and freshly baked cookies. Borrow from our sisters in the South and in addition to your wedding cake, have a groom’s cake made in luscious red velvet or German chocolate cake. You can even have your waitstaff serve individual wedding cupcakes at the tables, after you and your groom cut the first slice. Serve your chocolate cake with a delicious liquor or dessert wine and give everyone a reason to keep on dancing!
Since 2009, chocolate menus are still so elegant and unusual. Although no one in Syracuse and Central New York offers them, you can try ordering them from Chocolate Dreams and Wishes on line as they offer some very pretty designs. You can, however, turn to wonderful Syracuse chocolatiers for mouth watering chocolate truffles and other delights for favors or even for centerpiece incorporation (the bride and groom who offer stands of different flavors of chocolate truffles as a centerpiece would certainly win hands down as most favorite centerpiece of the century!). Contact three of our areas favorite chocolate spots for help with your wedding treats today:
- Hercules Candy Company
- Sweet on Chocolate
- Woodmark Chocolate
Don’t forget to hand your guests a prettily decorated jar of tasty chocolate sauce to take home and enjoy on their ice cream as a lovely reminder of your wedding!
P.S. November 27th at the Horticulture Buildings at the New York State Fair grounds, the 2010 Syracuse Wine and Chocolate Festival will take place. Go to their web site for tickets and more information. It is a you do not want to miss event!
