We still have two tribes, La Flor and Espada, but after last week’s episode, gone is the “old vs. young” tribal showdown. After Probst announced “drop your buffs”, it was a whole new ballgame, as the tribes were mixed up, giving some players new life (Holly?) and putting some power-players in a tougher spot in the game (Marty).
This week, the CBS episode synopsis is a bit cryptic, with the actual commercial video preview a lot more telling. First the CBS synopsis of this week’s episode, entitled “Worst Case Scenario”:
“One of the game’s most prominent masterminds targets two foes and sets a plan in motion to oust one of them, along with an immunity idol, in one of the most memorable tribal councils of the season.”
The video preview (view to the left of this article) confirms that this episode in fact will contain 2 Tribal Councils, with each tribe voting someone out tonight (that means look for two separate Exit Interviews coming tomorrow!), following an Immunity Challenge for individual immunity.
Analysis. Well, to decode the CBS synopsis, to say “one of the” most promoninent masterminds easily refers to Marty, who is arguably the game’s only “mastermind” thus far. Go to CBS.com to confirm this, as the graphic alongside this week’s episode description is a big picture of Marty’s face. The part that is interesting to me is where it suggests he also wants to get rid of an Immunity Idol…although he is the only one in possession of one on his tribe at the moment…it’ll be interesting to see how this plays out.
With individual immunity coming to 2 people tonight, it will be hard to make any predictions. But clearly after voting out Tyrone last week, Yve and Dan over at Espada are definitely vulnerable being in the minority. We never know what Na ‘Onka will be feeling week to week, so she may be targeted again this week as well.
Over at La Flor, someone is definitely going home, and all eyes seemed to have been on Marty thus far. Does his “grand master” chess-playing status give him the ability to maneuver out of what seems to be certain check-mate? Tune in tonight, 8 EST only on CBS, and as always be sure to check back in for the full Episode Recap by tomorrow morning.
