A personal note from Michael Madfis, Chair for this year’s VisionWalk.
“I recently accepted the challenge of Chairperson for the South Florida VisionWalk, a big step in boosting research for retinal degenerative diseases, hosted by the Foundation Fighting Blindness!
I am asking for your help and support in my fund-raising efforts with a donation. Your 100% tax-deductible gift will make a difference in the lives of many! It is faster and easier than ever to support this great cause – you can make your donation online by simply clicking on the link at the bottom of this message. If you would prefer, you can also send your tax-deductible contribution to the address listed below.
Any amount, BIG or small, helps in the fight and I greatly appreciate your support. I’ll keep you posted on my progress!
As some of you know I have been losing my eyesight (not my vision) due a genetic degenerative eye disease know as retinitis pigmentosa. My visual field has been decreasing slowly of over my life. Though I still have central vision my field of sight is now less than 20%. I apologize if miss seeing you I’m not ignoring you I just don’t see you in my visual field. Doctors say I’m legally blind now. Well that may slow me down a little. With assistance I plan on continuing along my list of goals and focus on the experience and results they bring each day. Your financial support and walking side by side with me on Walk Day will bring us closer to a cure – and that Cure is in Sight!”
