You wake up with a pounding headache probably a result of 5 hours of interrupted sleep. One wants this, the other needs that. You tried to go to bed as soon as they did last night, but you were working so hard on your schoolwork that you were up for three more hours. Its going to be another one of those days…
Your daughter missed the bus and you can’t find your car keys. Great. Oh yeah! You threw them on top of the bookshelf after a quick run to the grocery store last night. You needed to get milk for the kids’ breakfast. So you jump in the car and rush him there so he isn’t late.
You come home to a semi messy house. Theres dishes to be done and laundry that needs tending to. There’s phone calls to be made and floors to be swept. The beds are a mess and there are toys all over the kids’ floors.
The other children are whining now. All at once. “Im thirsty.” “I wanna take a bath.” “Im hungry.” “I want to go outside..” The phone rings.. its the doctor. You have to take this call so you can get your prescription filled. So you stop what your doing and by the time you hang up, the kids are really acting like zoo animals and theres messes galore, just from that 5 minutes you were busy talking to the doctor.
Now its 5 o’clock. Theres a soccer game at 6, dinner has yet to be made. The dishes are still sitting there. Laundry is still not done. Floors are more messy now and the toys seem to have accumulated. The husband is complaining hes hungry and the kids are now getting sleepy.
Still truding along. Where did the day go? You never even had a chance to sit down and watch a soap this afternoon. You were staying busy, yet nothing is done. The kids are fighting now and your school aged child only has half the homework done and you have tons of your own to do tonight. You tell yourself that you are going to go to bed when they do tonight but just as soon as you get everything done.
They go to bed finally. Your too tired to do much of anything. You finish the important tasks. Let the other ones go. You say youll do them tomorrow. But you probably won’t because tomorrow will be just as hectic as today, maybe worse. You glance up at their pictures as you pass by to go to bed. You smile because well, they are adorable and sweet. You do love them. They just are a looooot of work.
You lay down, try to watch tv for a few minutes to make sure none of them are going to wake up. Seems like all is well. You close your eyes. Thats when you hear one of them yelling for you. You get out of bed, cater to their needs then lay down again. Finally you fall asleep, but your back up in two hours with child #2.
The alarm goes off what seems like too soon. You open one eye and see that its another day. You sigh because you already know, but really? What else can you do? Not much. So you step out of bed, put on your cape and play SuperMom for yet another crazy day.
