“Spider-Man” isn’t the only popular movie franchise getting a reboot for summer. The “X-Men” series is getting a reboot pf sorts as well. The latest movie will tell the beginning of Xavier’s and Magneto’s story as the “X-Men: First Class” comes to the big screen. The story centers on the teenage years of the first team of X-Men to come out of the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning.
The anticipated summer blockbuster, following the classic Marvel mythology, tells the epic beginning of the X-Men saga. Before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Before they were archenemies, they were closest of friends, working together, with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop the greatest threat the world has ever known. In the process, a rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.
The movie stars James McAvoy as Xavier and Michael Fassbender as Magneto. Also starring Kevin Bacon.
The first class of the X-Men opens June 3.
