It all began when You Can’t Do That On Television needed a kid to slime for viewers nationwide. Since his green goo TV debut Vik Sahay has studied and mastered the craft of acting. He’s worked his way from playing “MIT Student #3” in Good Will Hunting to becoming one of the hottest characters on the hit show Chuck, with fans and critics singing their praises for his nerd driven wit and his badass 80s rock band known as, “Jeffster.”
What was the first job you ever had?
As a very, very young boy, I was in the final year of a television series called You Can’t Do That On Television where, among other things, I had buckets of green paint dumped on me. This was called being “slimed”. I had a real talent for it.
What made you pursue a career in
A desire to work with great storytellers on an international level.
What was your first job in the movie/TV business and how did you get it? Well, after working as a child I went to theatre school and emerged professionally again. At some point in that back and forth journey, I played Tiger #1, a member of a gang called…The Tigers, in a movie of the week that shot in
Montreal. On the day of shooting my scene, I insisted on wearing a fedora for the role, and using dreads in my hair, and eating an apple in my scene which enhanced the goatee I had painted on.
Do you have a favorite story from the trenches?
A surreal, “only in showbiz” moment, was being escorted through the grounds of one of the studios to meet with Billy Zane about a movie that there was no script for. A couple of other actors had been ushered in with me. One was wearing a fake turban and one was, I think in an Elvis Suit. I was in a regular suit. I thought: where are we and what are we doing? It was like a Fellini movie version of a job interview.
What is your dream job?
Going on location to a part of the world I would otherwise never get to see and having total immersion in the character and project I was there for.
What or who makes you laugh?
Ricky Gervais, Peter Sellers and my cats.
What do you do on a typical day off?
Sleep, workout, read novels, watch great films.
What inspires you?
Great artists. Great athletes. Great pinot noirs.
What advice do you have for aspiring filmmakers?
Be passionate. Have a point of view. Learn about the acting process so that you can collaborate with your performers in creating
the reality of your world.
What are you doing now?
Working on Chuck and developing a couple of indie features to be shot in
If you won the lottery today, what would you be doing tomorrow?
Fast tracking pre-production on one of those features and going to camera this winter.
What is your favorite ice cream flavor?

Producing and starring in great theatre and film around the world.
