Aesthetic, Das Bunker’s resident DJ and promoter, is digging himself into a hole. With each month’s Das Bunker ATL being consistently better than the last, he is essentially making his job that much harder. With last month’s amazing double performances from SAM and Aesthetic Perfection, it almost seems impossible to top. But Aesthetic has found a way.
This Friday, October 15, performing live at the Shelter is the father of industrial music himself, cEvin Key. A founding member of Skinny Puppy, Key has been involved in many industrial projects including Download, Tear Garden, and Doubting Thomas. This is a show you don’t want to miss! He’ll be playing a DJ set that spans all of his different projects through the years, so it will be like seeing several groups’ performances in one.
This is also the official Faderhead CD release party for their upcoming album “Black Friday”. There will be plenty of giveaways of free CDs, posters, and other goodies to those who arrive early. Seriously, make sure you get there early, because once they are gone, they’re gone!
Resident DJ Aesthetic is joined by…DJ Omac! Yes, Omac is back from NYC for the next few weeks and is gracing us with his ever cheerful presence and awesome DJing skills.
Club nights are social nights of course, but above all, Das Bunker ATL is an industrial music and dance night. If you want to hear the best industrial dance, EBM, and power noise Atlanta has to offer, then Das Bunker ATL is for you. Where else in town can you find an industrial discotheque? That’s right, nowhere.
One of the things that makes Das Bunker ATL so successful is the symbiotic relationship between the event and its venue. The Shelter, voted Creative Loafing’s Best New Club of 2010, is like a second home for most people in the underground scene. The staff is absolutely amazing, the look and feel of the club is cool and comfortable; even the location is great! Located at 2101 Tula St NW 30309, the Shelter is conveniently located off of Peachtree Rd. in Buckhead. (The Shelter also has plenty of free parking.) The Shelter is a great place to go any night, but on Das Bunker nights, it’s unstoppable.
The cover for Das Bunker ATL is $15. The Shelter is 21 and up. Doors open at 9pm and close at 3am. Attendance is required for everyone that wishes to continue calling themselves an Atlanta Rivethead.
If you want to watch Aesthetic sweat to try to top this event next month, make sure you add Das Bunker Atlanta on Facebook, and check out the event page for this month’s Das Bunker ATL. And while you’re on Facebook, make sure to like the Atlanta Underground Club Scene.
