Plus size model Whitney Thompson posed nude for October’s “Love Your Body” campaign this summer. The size 10 model posed naked alongside Plus Size Miss America Chenese Lewis. Why? Because Whitney says she feels better at a Size 10 than she ever did as a “straight-sized model”.
The campaign, steered by the National Organization for Women is gearing up for a big day during the month of October – The official “Love Your Body Day”. And Whitney, also the season 10 winner of “America’s Next Top Model” is speaking out to encourage women of all sizes to love the skin they’re in.
“It’s our bodies naked and if you don’t like it,” she said in a recent interview. “I don’t care.”
“I’M NOT FAT. I’M P-H-A-T”
When Thompson, 22, was competing on America’s Next Top Model the camera caught another girl calling her out for being “fat”. When Thompson was later asked about how that made her feel, she candidly said she was ready to come back in the war of words.

“I was like ‘Uh, perhaps you meant P-H-A-T,’ which is totally my personality,” she said, adding that she felt the girls were “jealous” because she didn’t have to diet. “They had to do this work to be super skinny, and I was like ‘Well, I don’t, and my pictures still came out better than yours.'”
DOES WHITNEY THINK HER SIZE 10, 145-POUND BODY IS FAT?
To Whitney, she thinks it’s “weird” when people refer to her as a plus-size model.
“It’s below average,” she says, standing at 5-foot-10 at 145 pounds and wavering in between a Size 10 or Size 12. Not to mention, Thompson says she has more self-esteem now than she ever did when she was super skinny.
“Even though there are disadvantages to being bigger, in the long run the best thing that’s happened to me is that even before everyone knew that I won [ANTP], I got e-mails from girls and boys from all over the world saying ‘I’ve dealt with an eating disorder and you’ve had me seek help and I see your confidence and how you do it,’ people who were really looking up to me just for my ideas on the show,” she said.
Adding, “I think that’s really the best reward I could possibly have.”
