A rescue sent out an urgent plea today to help save dogs in various states, some travelling through Nashville and some hoping to find a foster family there.
Here are the descriptions of the dogs and what they need from Gina at Lab & All Breed Rescue Network.
Pee wee is a year old. He came from a hoarder in Mississippi . She found him in a walmart parking lot as a puppy. He’s very sweet, has learned to walk on a leash very well, totally crate trained and is really good about following the other foster dogs outside to potty. He is now neutered.
Note: One of our volunteers is related to a Hoarder in Mississippi and that is where he was taken from. He was covered in fleas so badly he had lost most of his hair. He was treated for flea allergy and his hair has almost completely filled in. It’s still shorter in some spots where it is growing but there is not skin infection or anything like that.
Alex was found as a stray in New Orleans . He was chipped and we called but the owner had given him away and had no desire to get him back. She couldn’t provide me with a name or number for the person that she had given him to. He’s 2 to 3 years old and is also shy initially but quickly warms up and comes out of his shell. He was on the street for a while based on his initial appearance. He’s calm but gets spurts of playfulness. He’s a fan of small dogs but not large and he loves kids, or at least all the one’s we have exposed him to.
876 “Scruffy” was an owner surrender Dachshund mix. She is 12lbs, fully vetted including microchip, very energetic, likes kids and everyone else on the planet.
891 “Prince” is a male chi-weenie. He is 21/2 years old, 12lbs, energetic and playful. Great with kids, he was a yard dog.
901 “Lilly and War” are owner surrenders, 1 ½ year old Puggles. The owner literally told me they could not stand the dogs because all they want to do is play. They are puggles, and still babies. Both are heartworm negative and super friendly. They are silly and very bonded, brother and sister. Both weigh about 14lbs.
Mabel-Clotile-Cletus-Earl- are 7 month old black lab pups that are very sweet and seeking love. They have never known human kindness until recently. Great with other dogs and love people. Some of these puppies have a foster home lined up in Knoxville.
Cody is an 8-month old Catahoula pup weighing 40 lbs. He is a very happy boy that plays well with others and is grateful for everything he gets.
