College Park, Md. — Police have released surveillance photos of a suspect who is wanted in connection with the multiple stabbing that happened near the University of Maryland just before 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Police say officers responded to Baltimore Avenue and Knox Road for the report of a cutting. Once on scene, officers discovered four victims suffering from stab wounds to the upper body. Officers were told that the altercation began at the Thirsty Turtle, where the victims and suspect were told to leave.
The fight continued and escalated to a physical altercation at the intersection of Knox Road and Baltimore Avenue. Police say the suspect produced a folding knife and cut or stabbed the four victims. The injured were taken to one of two trauma centers, where they were treated and released for non-life threatening injuries.
Police say this investigation is ongoing, and have released these two images from a surveillance camera.
On Wednesday, the department announced the arrest of 21-year-old Leonardo Alonso of Kensington. Read more in this PGPD news release.
