A church cannot truly be effective without an anointed visionary as their pastor. The Lord has blessed Calvary Christian Fellowship with such a pastor, in the person of Pastor Victor Nazario. Pastor Nazario has been the shepherd over Calvary Christian Fellowship for 18 years. He became a pastor at the age of 33, when his pastor was prompted by the Lord to install Pastor Nazario as the senior pastor.
Pastor Nazario says “Pastoring is a sacred call and service. It is a life where you continuously die to self and continuously feel a burden for the people God places under your care.” It is not an easy task, especially maintaining a job outside of his pastorate. A pastor wears many hats as the leader of a church. The delivery of the Word of God on Sunday morning is just the tip of the iceberg. The pastorate is one in which there is no set time one is ‘off the clock’
Pastor Nazario shared that though pastoring is hard work it is also “a wonderful call”. A pastor gets to “grow with a community of believers and gets to experience many wonderful, sad, happy, exciting times with them. You also become a part of their growth in the Lord. You develop sons & daughters in the process, who you get the privilege of walking with them throughout their lifetimes”
Pastor Nazario came to the knowledge of Jesus Christ at a young age. He was at his friend Gwendolyn’s house, when her mother shared the gospel with him. The following Sunday he went to church with Gwendolyn and her mother and accepted Jesus. Gwendolyn’s mother was also instrumental in giving insight to Pastor Nazario about his life in the ministry.
One day while at a Bible study at Gwendolyn’s house, her mother turned to Pastor Nazario and told him the Lord showed her him pastoring one day. Years later, while serving faithfully in the church, Pastor Nazario’s father told him his grandmother had a similar dream. God had truly ordained him for the ministry before he was even born.
Pastor Nazario is also an accomplished author. The pastor’s first book “Prosperous Leaders in the New Millennium” was released in 2005. When asked what led him to writing a book, Pastor Nazario said, “As part of my burden to instruct current and future generations, it is extremely important that we leave materials that can outlast us. Every great leader leaves journals and writings that benefit future generations.” He currently has a short manuscript and e-book on vision in the works.
