You’ve had great craft beer. You’ve paired great craft beer with great food. And you may have even cooked with great craft beer.
But have you ever had great craft beer-infused hot sauce before?
The Longmont, Colo.-based Oskar Blues Brewery, producer of the No. 1 craft beer in a can, has recently created a line of beer-infused hot sauces from each of its craft beers.
You can now complement your savory meals with any of the following freshly made hot sauces:
Ten FIDY Imperial Stout Hot Sauce: Ten FIDY hot sauce is made with the infamous ghost chili pepper (Naga jolokia or Bhut jolokia), the hottest pepper in the world. This sauce is only for the very brave. It’s produced in small batches just like the Oskar Blues cult favorite, Ten FIDY Imperial Stout.
Mama’s Little Yella Pils Hot Sauce: This hot mama of a sauce is made with Mama’s Little Yella Pils and serrano peppers.
Dale’s Pale Ale Hot Sauce: This chipotle hot sauce is infused with Dale’s Pale Ale, America’s first hand-canned craft beer.
Old Chub Scotch Ale Hot Sauce: Old Chub Scotch Ale blends beautifully with this vinegar-based cayenne hot sauce.
Gordon Imperial Red Hot Sauce: Sweet and hot, this mango habanero hot sauce is infused with Gordon, an imperial India pale ale, and it’s perfect for fish tacos.
The Oskar Blues hot sauces are collaboratively created by the Oskar Blues Home Made Liquids and Solids restaurant head chef Jason Rogers and Danny Cash of Danny Cash Hot Sauces.
Home Made Liquids and Solids is known for its smoked wings and it features a Ten FIDY Ghost Wing Challenge. The wings are so hot and spicy that if a guest can consume two pounds of wings and drink an Oskar Blues beer all within 15 minutes, he/she will receive a special “Get Weaponized” Ghost Wing Challenge t-shirt and the meal will be on the house.
Danny Cash Hot Sauce is a cutting-edge manufacturer of premium hot sauces, condiments, mixers and collectibles, with a focus on freshness and flavor.
How to buy:
The Oskar Blues hot sauces are priced at $6 each except for the limited-edition Ten FIDY Hot Sauce, which is $10. Sauces can be ordered online here.
Oskar Blues canned craft beers can be found at select stores throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Old Chub Scotch Ale Hot Sauce review:
This hot sauce has a slightly sweet base that’s balanced well by a snappy amount of heat. But it’s not all burn. It has a really rich cayenne pepper flavor that weaves in and out of some zingy vinegar. In time, subtle hints of garlic, onion, peat and smoke surface in the background. This hot sauce pairs wonderfully with a variety of hearty dishes, especially Mexican and Italian.
