Skitoberfest set for Saturday, Oct. 2
Boyne Mountain is hosting its second-annual Skitoberfest event on Saturday, Oct. 2, from 2 p.m. to midnight. The Michigan ski area plans food, microbrews and entertainment throughout the day and evening. In conjunction with Skitoberfest, the free Boyne Snowsports Summit will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Boyne Mountain Civic Center. The event will include a ski swap, a visit from X-Games gold-medalist Simon Dumont and a showing of “The Story,” a ski film produced by The Ski Channel.

Boyne sells discount card
Boyne Resorts is selling a Frequent Skier/Rider Card with benefits at six of the company’s ski areas: Boyne Mountain and Boyne Highlands, Mich., Sunday River and Sugarloaf, Maine, Loon Mountain, N.H., and Big Sky Resort, Mont. Priced at $89 through Oct. 11 and $94 after that date, the card gives skiers lift-ticket discounts ranging from $5 to $25. The card also allows for completely free skiing at Boyne Mountain and Boyne Highlands during two weeks: Jan. 2-7 and March 20-25.
