In a week on October 23rd, the Sun will enter Scorpio, along with Mercury. Venus and Mars are already here, so this packs a pretty good punch. This forms a stellium, which is commonly defined as three or more planets grouped in one sign. With four heavenly bodies here including the traditional ruler Mars, October 23rd-28th could be an interesting period. (Mars will be moving into Sagittarius after that.) Babies born this week will grow up to have strong emotions, willpower, ambition and shrewd business sense. Think: Hillary Clinton and Condoleeza Rice, two highly accomplished Scorpio’s. If you have a Scorpio Sun, Moon or ascendant, and especially if your birthday falls on one of these days, you will most certainly feel something in the air. Consider also the aspects to Pluto, the ruling planet of Scorpio. Depending on what kind of Scorpio influences are in your chart, you may experience any of the following:
Subversive activity, secretiveness, investigation, mysteries revealed, changing cycles and relationships some of which may come to a natural ending (due to retrograde Venus), unexplained urges, intense love affairs, great passion in all of your activities. At any time in the coming days, we may hear of breaking scandal, acts of retribution or cold cases solved. Beware of hidden enemies. If anyone is out to get you it could happen soon so pay attention and be prepared. I can feel the excitement already, maybe because of Venus and Mars. The light is changing, night arrives earlier and there is a crisp, foreboding breeze blowing. I love when Scorpio comes around every year. It feels like something crazy and thrilling is about to happen.
It so happens that a few days ago I was vacationing in Colorado and went to a wonderful museum called the Butterfly Pavilion. There was a jungle habitat and a science section with wonderful live specimens. I saw a large black emperor scorpion from West Africa! It isn’t often you get to see one of those. Are you squeamish? I’m not. I even got to hold a tarantula, another member of the Arachnid family to which scorpions belong.
Welcome Scorpio. Enjoy the ride!
