This show has continued to gain popularity with a cross section of America and certainly is popular here in Atlanta. People plan their schedules around this or record it for future viewing.
They have been edging out American Idol for some time now; and they are offering an electric group of dancers for this new season.
They will begin with 12 couples and each week they will compete; and then elimination begins. And as they get better in their routines, the competition gets really interesting as the numbers dwindle; and the dancers work so hard for the first place win. Each week is a cliff hanger to see who remains and who is eliminated.
Among those that folks can’t wait to see on the dance floor dancing the Viennese waltz or the Cha-Cha are Florence Henderson, the mother on the Brady Bunch; Bristol Palin, daughter of Sarah Palin; Rick Fox; Kurt Warner; David Hasselhoff; and Jennifer Grey.
This morning David Hassellhoff was asked about his “six pack,” and they were not talking about his recent bouts with alcohol. He said if anyone wanted to see his six-pack, they could go and watch re-runs of Bay Watch. Remember Jennifer Grey from “Dirty Dancing” with Patrick Swayze. And then there is Michael Bolton and Margaret Cho.
This should be an interesting season with lots of variations in dance routines; and a better look at the celebrities as they are today.
Wonder? Did they pick these stars for their dancing ability or their celebrity draw to the show? Many will certainly be tuning in to see Bristol Palin make her debut.
Many will watch because reality/elimination shows are so popular – some because they love dancing – and others to see the “near” costumes. Wouldn’t you love to own the “glue” factory that provides the stabilization for these “near costumes?”
There have been some concerns regarding Bristol Palin’s participation on the dance floor with those “intimate” steps as well as the costumes; and the effect it might have on her mother’s rise on the political floor. When Sarah was asked if she would be in the audience, she hesitated for a moment and said “Ya, I will be there cheering her on!”
They always seem to put in a few “older” folks and they usually amaze the audience with their ability to heat up the dance floor – they probably seek the “heating” pad after each practice session.
