The final installment on Vegas will center on all those terrific entertainment opportunities that I haven’t touched on yet. Las Vegas offers something for everyone and if you haven’t found anything of interest over the last few articles I’m certain there’s something here for you.
After all that I’ve written about the last 4 weeks there are still the more unique adventures available. Now I’m certain that everything here can be found at other cities, but the question is, how many cities actually boast all of these these option? The offerings begin with driving an official Nascar around an official Nascar track? You can in Vegas. Interested in flying a Soviet fighter jet? Yes, it’s another Vegas offering (although you’ll be flying a Soviet Air Force Sukhoi fighter jet and not actually the Soviet MiG fighter). Where else can you go and shoot some of the world’s greatest machine guns and automatic weapons? In Vegas, you get to choose from, Armalite, Colt, AK, H&K, Thompson, Bren, Sten, MAC, and Uzi, You’ll choose from vintage World War II automatic rifles and machine guns to today’s ultra modern state of the art automatic weapons, and everything in between.
And then there’s the thrill rides. Some of the most extreme thrill rides anywhere are available here. Rollers coasters are available at New York New York and Circus Circus. Bungee jumping from an elevated hot air balloon at the south end of the strip. and for the thrill of your life check out Big Shot, Insanity, X Scream, and SkyJump all at The Stratosphere. These are guarranteed to up your heartrate like nothing else you’ve ever been on.
I need to take a moment and touch on the art (galleries at Bellagio and Wynn, and artwork strategically placed for the publics enjoyment throughout the Aria/CityCenter complex), conservatories and botanical gardens (the best of which are Bellagio and The Mirage), observation towers (check out Top of the World at the Stratosphere and The Eiffel Tower at Paris), and several lounges and restaurants where the views of the city and valley are phenomenal (The M Resorts Veloce Cibo, Rio’s Voodoo Lounge, Mandalay Bay’s Mix, GhostBar and The Playboy Club at The Palms, The Stratosphere’s Top of the World, which is still the best in town. It rotates 360 degrees and provides a beautiful panorama of the entire valley. Get there at Dusk and see the lights come on, terrific, and Green Valley Ranch’s Hank’s).
There are museum quality exhibitions, aquariums, shark reef’s, animal habitats, helicopter and glider rides, and Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam excursions. There’s Combat Zone paintball, outdoor and indoor skydiving, extreme skydiving, and ATV tours. And of course let’s not forget the gondola rides at The Venetian.
And of course, don’t forget you can always try your luck at the tables or slots. I know that the casino’s will only be too happy to give you a chance to double your money, but be careful and be sure to bet with your head, and not over it.
Until next time, travel safely.
