Tyrese’s advice to La La Vazquez on her new VH1 reality show sparks a debate with Ciara on whether single friends are healthy for married couples.
Last night, VH1 premiered three new reality shows.
Reality stars Real and Chance got another go around with their new show The Legend Hunters this time not for love while the second season of Fantasia Barrino’s show Fantasia For Real opened the door to the discussion of her alleged affair.
The show that happened to stand out from the rest was La La Vazquez’s Full Court Wedding that took viewers behind the scenes of her wedding to Denver Nuggets basketball player Carmelo Anthony as well as shed light on her life as a mother.
In one of the scenes from the show, La La met up with her good friend singer/actor Tyrese for a little chat. During their talk, Tyrese questioned if La La was ready to become a wife. He also inquired as to why she doesn’t hang out with married friends.
Tyrese cautioned that hanging out with her single friends all the time might not be the wisest thing to do once she walks down the aisle.
One of La La’s single friends, singer Ciara, disagreed.
Last night after the season premiere of La La’s Full Court Wedding, Ciara and Tyrese went back and forth via Twitter, debating about whether Tyrese’s blunt advice was realistic.
“It’s OK to hang out with single ladies, when your friends are level headed!” Ciara suggested to Tyrese with tweets. “What matters is the space people are in mentally. Just because you’re single doesn’t mean you have to be wild.”
Tyrese did not waver when confronted by Ciara and other viewers via Twitter stating that single people talk about “single people sh-t” and that may not be healthy for someone who is married.
“See there…seems like that “hanging with single friends” got someone feeling a certain kinda way,” Tyrese responded to the tweets. “I wonder why? Hmmm.”
Tyrese continued with “single people tend to do and talk about ‘single people sh-t.’ It happens…I use to be married…I will leave it at that!”
Some of La La’s close friends are single so it may pose a problem for her to now have to find friendships with people who are married. We all saw how catty some of the basketball wives were on VH1’s reality show Basketball Wives. Perhaps, the single ladies are who La La is most comfortable with.
