If you like Karaoke and you’re in Lexington, you’re in good company. Now every town has their Karaoke bars and it’s not that Lexington’s are better, it’s just a fun place to be.
This writer loves to sing and enjoys being in a crowd of people who like to sing too.
Honestly, if you’re looking for good music, don’t bother. If you’re looking for fun and a supportive place to sing your heart out. Lexington’s got you covered.
Not that there aren’t good singers sparingly spread throughout every establishment, there are, but that’s not the point of real Karaoke is it? It’s about people who love to sing and having fun.
OK.. places to sing in Lexington. To qualify for this article, you have to be dedicated to Karaoke Bar. Not just one night a week not the third Friday in June. If you’re a Karaoke bar, you have Karaoke multiple times a week.
Survivors: Karaoke is Wednesday through Saturday 9pm till 1am. this is a little hole in the wall off Nicholasville Rd. close to the Mall. East Reynolds Rd. behind White castle, in the corner of the shopping center. It’s a neighborhood bar you would call a dive. Good part of town, never any trouble but – it’s a dive. Roger is the bartender and like all good bartenders, he’s fast effecient and just a glance and a raised eyebrow get you the drink you want. They also have pool and darts if you want. Excellent sound system and an excellent stage for singing. Very friendly.
Todd’s Karaoke Bar and Grill: Off of Harrodsburg Road, behind Home Depot on the left on Lane Allen Rd. This bar has been here a long time and has karaoki every night because the owner (Todd?) loves to sing. There’s no kitchen but they have a deal where a local Pizza joint will deliver and there’s a Chinese Take-out right next door (practically.) BYOF is encouraged. LOL
Chinoe Pub & Restaurant: Hmmm Chinoe Rd is off on Alumni Rd. (the road that goes to UK from Man-O-War Blvd. And the Pub is in the Shinoe Shopping Center. The Pub is a little hard to find, but they’ve been in the Karaoke business for a long time. It’s in a very nice part of town and there are a loyal following of customers and singers. Considered to be the upper crust of Lexington Karaoke, it’s where the good singers go.
This is going to be an ongoing project. if You like Karaoke, check back for updates.
