John Q will record live album and DVD at The Hideaway Cafe on October 22nd.
ST. PETERSBURG: Local Tampa Bay band, John Q, will be performing live at the Hideaway Cafe this Friday, October 22nd. The show will be recorded & filmed for an up-and-coming 10-12 track live album and DVD which will be released at a future, yet to be announced date. The album will feature four new songs from John Q, as well as some of their more well known songs including “Sunrise” and “Brushfire”.
The show is an all ages event, and will take place from 6:00pm – 11:30pm with a cover charge of $10.00 in advance, or $11.00 at the door. You can order your tickets in advance here. A special guest performance from Booth Jewett is scheduled to open the show. Everyone who is in attendance will recieve a copy of the John Q album.
John Q’s current line-up consists of lead singer John Allison, Dave Turner on lead guitar, Scott McAtasney on Bass, and newest member Mike Padgett on drums. The band emerged onto the Tampa Bay music scene in 2007 and released their first official EP entitled “Brushfire” shortly after. In September of 2009, John Q released their full length album “Sunrise” which has been received by both critics and fans alike. Since then, they have expanded their fan base and have started touring in the South East Region. In the “2010 Creative Loafing Best of the Bay Reader Poll”, John Q were voted the “runners up” in the “Best Local Band” category, and lead singer, John Allison, was voted “runner up” in the “Best Singer/Songwriter” category.
The Hideaway Cafe is an original live music venue & recording studio. The cafe offers craft beer, wine, and plenty of live entertainment from some of Tampa Bays best bands. In the “2010 Creative Loafing Best of the Bay Reader Poll”, the Hideaway Cafe was voted “runner up in the “Best Small Concert Venue” category. The Hideaway Cafe is located in Downtown St. Petersburg at 1756 Central Avenue.
