“And the Lord said to Gideon, ‘The people who are with you are too many for Me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel claim glory for itself against Me, saying, ‘My own hand has saved me.” Judges 7:2
God was delivering the Midianites into the hands of Israel. There were 32,000 people with Gideon, and God said, ‘that is too many.’ The people then went down to 10,000, and finally 300. There were 300 men; but the scriptures say that the Midianites and the Amalekites, the people of the east, were lying in the valley as numerous as locusts; and their camels were without number, as the sand by the seashore in multitude! In other words, Israel appeared to be out numbered! In the natural it looked as though they would need some more help; but guess what? With God, it don’t take all that!
“If God be for you, who can be against you?” If you have God on your side, you are on the winning team. The reality of it is this, you have to realize that God is going to get the glory, so we have to go forward with less than we think we need; we have to move into the battle when it appears that we are shorthanded, understaffed, lacking support, lacking finances, lacking favor and lacking information. If God directs you to move forward and to keep going, but you don’t think you are equipped, it’s a setup! Just remember, with God, it don’t take all that!
If you had all of the people; all of the favor; all of the money; all of the information; all of the support..then you would mistakenly begin to think you were doing something; you would miss seeing the hand of God move in your situation. If we believe we have everything we need to do what we are doing, then we may forget our need for Him in order to succeed; we may forget to seek Him for every decision we make; we may forget that without Him we can do nothing.
You may wonder why you don’t have all that you believe you need in order to move forward; but whatever it is that you think you need, if you don’t have it, then it don’t take all that.
God sent Gideon with 300 men, against a multitude, so that He would get the glory. Do you trust God enough to let Him get the glory? Do you trust Him enough to go forward with what He has provided and let Him do the rest? Remember you can have all that you think you need, but if you do not acknowledge God, you will fail…why?
Because “..for without Me you can do nothing.”
Everything you need is in Christ!!
As far as the other stuff and the other people…It don’t take all that!!!
“I am the Lord, that is My name; and My glory I will not give to another,..” Is. 42:8
