On last night’s “Survivor: Nicaragua” episode, Holly was seen losing it over a pot of snails Jill had for the Espada tribe. As Holly watched Jill’s facial expressions in putting the snails into the pot, she thought the food wasn’t edible, telling her and the others they were stupid if they really thought they could eat those things. Holly loses it when she takes the pot and throws out the snails, upsetting her tribe. Here’s the thing, it wasn’t about snails.
The tribe believed they were a good source of protein and Holly’s mental state was in question temporarily.
It was even worse when she overheard the others making fun of her and making comments that she was crazy. When she saw Dan talk about her, she took his $1,600 alligator shoes, filled them with sand, and said as they sunk below the water’s surface, “Payback.”
Why would Dan bring a pair of $1,600 shoes to Nicaragua in a challenging show like “Survivor”?
The catalyst was Wendy’s elimination in the first “Survivor” episode. Holly voted off the one contestant she formed an alliance with in order to please everyone. As a result, Holly resented it, thought she was being too nice and emotions got the best of her. She admitted the show may not be for her because the competition was already draining on her.
She didn’t like what she did and fessed up later on, aware she was ‘losing it.’ Dan didn’t forgive her, but the rest on Espada did.
Just think, if she wasn’t feeling so bad that day, Holly would have really enjoyed feasting on that pot of snails.
