But the company is known for something else, too — giving back. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Estee Lauder supports the end of this terrible disease, in a big, and consistent, way. The Breast Cancer Research Foundation® was founded in 1993 by Evelyn H. Lauder as an independent, notfor-profit organization dedicated to funding innovative clinical and translational research. In October 2009, BCRF awarded nearly $28.5 million to 173 scientists across the United States, Canada, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and Australia. Last year, more than 88 cents of each dollar donated to the Foundation went directly to breast cancer research and awareness programs. And the American Institute of Philanthropy has awarded the Foundation its highest possible rating of A+. For more information about BCRF, visit http://www.bcrfcure.org/
One of the ways Estee Lauder supports the BCRF is through the sale of special edition “Pink” products. Here are four of my favorites (there are many more), available right now! PLEASE SEE THE SLIDE SHOW WITH THIS ARTICLE, TO VIEW ALL FOUR PRODUCTS!
CUTE FOR THE CAUSE! What girl doesn’t love mini-sized makeup? Clinique supports Breast Cancer Awareness Month with Great Lips, Great Cause, a limited-edition lip trio key ring. The key ring features an exclusive Pink Ribbon heart charm, Clinique “C” charm and three mini lip favorites on shades of universally flattering pink, to charm you, literally! Keep them with your keys on the silver, ball-tipped keyring and you’ll always have lip products at hand. But, if you don’t feel like taking them all with you, each lip loving product detaches from the keyring by simply sliding it off with it’s charm-style jump ring, or detach it completely to pop into a purse via it’s lobster claw clasp. You get an adorable, mini-sized Long Last Glosswear SPF 15 in Clearly Pink that adds a hint of pink tint, and tons of shine. Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss in Grapefruit slicks lips with nothing much more than shine and pampering moisture, while the Different Lipstick in Glazed Berry is a modern, slightly shimmery deep pink that goes from day to night. Layer one of the glosses on top for a sexy evening pout. These are just too-too cute — and for a great cause. Stock up now because at just $16.00 ($4.00 per key ring purchased during the month of October will be donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation®), supplies won’t last for long and they make great stocking stuffers! Available during the entire month of October 2010 exclusively at Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s stores nationwide and Macy’s Puerto Rico, while supplies last.
TEMPTING TRIO OF PINK: Mini lip products are fun, but full-sized, encased-in-pink, special edition lipsticks in a moc-croc makeup case too cute to leave home, are big and beautiful! The Evelyn Lauder Lip Design Collection shades were hand-picked by Evelyn Lauder and include three lipsticks (Pure Color Crystal Lipstick in Tiramisu (sheer, light pink with gold shimmer) and two Pure Color Long-Lasting Lipsticks: Candy (a shimmery, medium pink) and Rubellite (deep pink with a hint of gold shimmer). The bag and three lipsticks are $25.00 but you’d pay that much almost for one, in the store *and the included bag is really gorgeous! Estée Lauder will donate $500,000 to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation®. Every purchase from the Estée Lauder Pink Ribbon Collection will help raise awareness, but does not
impact the amount of the Estée Lauder donation. AVAILABLE AT: All Estée Lauder counters in the United States and Puerto Rico as well as on http://www.esteelauder.com/.
PERFECTLY WONDERFUL PEACE OF MIND? I’ve seen Peace of Mind® On-the-spot by Origins before, but I didn’t believe it would work, until I tried it . i was on a deadline and pretty stressed out. So I gently rubbed some of this minty-smelling product on my temples, on my earlobes, and the back of my neck, as the instructions suggested. This iconic product, launched in 1990, is still a best-seller thanks to the powerful de-stressing properties in the key ingredients of Basil, Eucalyptus and Peppermint that help to produce calm feelings. This trio of nature’s peacekeeping oils initiate a rapid relaxation response to help you switch off and shut out worry for a while. For October, this awesome little stress reliever comes in a special pink bottle and box has been created especially for Breast Cancer. The 0.5 fl. oz/15 ml pump bottle is just $10.00. Origins will donate $35,000 to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation®. Purchase of the Origins Peace of Mind On-the-Spot Relief will not impact the amount of the Origins donation. AVAILABLE AT Origins retail stores and select department stores in the USA and Puerto Rico and on http://www.origins.com/ or 1-800-ORIGINS
DELICIOUSLY GREEN (AND PINK) FOR THE CAUSE: Donna Karan’s DKNY Be Delicious Coffret takes me back to the minis, for a moment. I just can’t stop ogling this quartet of tiny 0.3 oz. “apples” with shiny, silver tops, filled with DKNY Be Delicious Eau de Parfum and Be Delicious Fresh Blossom Minis. Snow White was tempted by an apple, but you will find these cute minis, equally magical, with positive consequences! Be Delicious is green-tinted, bright and fruity: Notes are: American Apple, Cucumber, Grapefruit, Candid Magnolia, Tuberose, White Muguet, Rose, Violet, Sandalwood, Tender Skin Accord, Blonde Woods, and White Amber. Be Delicious Fresh Blossom is light and more floral, with notes of Grapefruit, Cassis, Apricot, Muguet, Rose, Jasmine, Apple, Blond Woods, and Smooth Skin Accord. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month DKNY Be Delicious will be making a $15,000 donation to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. These are so cute, you’ll want to keep one with you and make all who see you dabbing it on, “Green” (or “pink”) with envy. They also make just about the most squeal-worthy stocking stuffers around. Four apples, nicely boxed, are just $38.00 at Sephora and Macy’s.
