Fall is a great time for the family to get outside and have some fun. Halloween is just a few short weeks away. There are many activities and events planned in the next few weeks. Here is just a sampling.
Dorney Park’s Halloween Season special events. Boo! Blast is open every Saturday and Sunday, September 25 through October 31 from Noon – 5 pm. Kids enjoy themed attractions and activities plus all of their favorite rides and attractions in Camp “Spooky” and Tot-Spot. Halloween Haunt starts at 6 pm every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. September 24 through October 31. Thirteen attractions! The Halloween Haunt at Dorney Park is strongly not recommended for children under the age of 13. Historic Haunts Ghost Tours October 1-31 The Moravian Book Shop, 428 Main St, Bethlehem.
Join the book shop for an hour-long ghostly candlelight walking tours through historic Downtown Bethlehem. Resident Ghost Masters will chill you with tales of real hauntings based on Bethlehem Ghosts by Katherine Ramsland and Dana DeVito. Reservations required. Haunting happens in most all weather. Fire Prevention Week October 3-9. Open house at Nancy Run Fire Company, 3564 Easton Avenue Bethlehem Township. Saturday the 9th 11 am to 3 pm. Fire trucks on display, Sparky the Fire Dog, free hot dogs, chips and soda.
Bethlehem Harvest Festival October 9, Bethlehem Welcome Center 505 Main Street, Bethlehem. Beer samplings, food, arts and crafts, music, children’s activities.
Walnutport Canal Association: Friday October 15 the Haunted Woods start; Saturday October 16 6k Towpath Trot and hayrides; Sunday October 17 family orientated annual Canal Festival; food, crafts, exhibits and entertainment. For more info call 610-767-5817.
Borough of Fountain Hill 2nd annual Spooky Forest and Pumpkin Patch. Fountain Hill Park at Stanley Avenue and North Lynn Street. Friday October 22nd 5-11 pm. Designed for families and children under the age of 14. Admission fee.
Gaggles of Ghosts and Ghouls Friday October 23, 6:30-9:00 pm. You will be led on an eerie walk through the trails of Peace Valley Nature Center. Along the way you may meet some “creatures” that will expose some of the myths about the creepy and frightening nature of cats, rats, bats, snakes, ghosts and other things that go bump in the night. After the walk, relax at our warming fire with toasty, gooey marshmallows.
Last Fling Pumpkin Sling October 30 and 31; Hensler Farms, Route 519, Belvidere, NJ. Pumpkin sling by machine, pumpkin sling by muscle, pumpkin carving, pumpkin pie and baking contests, pumpkin patch for kids.
Unangst Tree Farms 7317 Bethlehem-Bath Pike (Route 512) Saturday September 25th through Sunday October 31st, Saturdays & Sundays 11 am – 6 pm; 6 acre corn maze, one acre corn maze, barn bunnies, petting zoo, hayrides to the pumpkin patch and pony rides.

On weekends during the fall, 15 minute hayride through the orchard during operating hours. Kid’s crafts 11 am. on Saturdays in September and October in the Johnny Appleseed Schoolhouse. Raub’s Farm Market 1459 Tatamy Road, Easton. Friday, Saturday and Sunday hay rides, pumpkin patch, 14 acre corn maze; 3 mazes – 5 miles of walking trails.
Seiple Farms 5761 Nor-Bath Boulevard, Bath, Saturday 10 am to 5 pm and Sunday noon to 5 pm. Free hayride to the pumpkin patch. Visit with farm animals, haunted barn, corn maze, amusement and pony rides.
Bear Rock Junction Corn Maze. 4 miles of maze, located at Route 309 & Mountain Road in New Tripoli, PA.
City of Allentown; Sunday, October 31 at 2:00 pm, the oldest continuous Halloween Parade in the nation, starts at the Allentown Fairgrounds.
City of Bethlehem; Sunday, October 31 at 2:00 pm, Broad & Main Streets.
Hallow Fest 2010 parade downtown Easton and Phillipsburg; Sunday October 31 at 1:30 pm.
