Good morning St Louis,
Whether Christian or not, we all know it is good to give whether we do so or not. However, there are some in the ministry that use their apparent high standing in Christ Jesus to take advantage of us. Heaven forbid we think thus, nevertheless such is true. Now, not all that ask have the intent of taking advantage of us, but some of those on radio and television are clearly out of bibllical boundaries in their asking. They claim to preach the whole gospel, but in truth focus only on portions of the Bible that strengthen their grip on our pocketbooks. Why is it we never compare the lives of these individuals with the lives of the apostles? Can’t we sense something is wrong here? These men and women ride to their shows in limosines. The apostles carried their crosses to the place of their crucifixion. There they gave their last sermons.
Of note among these ministers include the lead ministers of PTL and others such as Kenneth Copeland and Crefloe Dollar. Kenneth E. Hagin, their mentor, was never like these. He did preach a prosperity message, but faith was the primary focus of his teaching, and he never begged for money. Another of note has been CBN founder Pat Robertson. He, and the others ministering with him on the 700 Club have indeed made strong pleas for money. However, we have seen that our money sent to them has gone around the world doing good. Can the others previously named boast of the same? Where is their university? Where are their planted churches? Why haven’t they shown us their many outreach progams? CBN has continually shown us theirs.
Many of those on PTL have an outreach program. They have reached out and pulled money from our pocketbooks to feed their lavish life styles. They have boasted of their wealth as a sign to us, that if we would be like them, we must give, give, give! Isn’t this covetousness? Kenneth E. Hagin warned these before his death that they were out of bounds and demanded of them they get right with God. Kenneth E. Hagin was a prophet. He gave them warning.
Here is what scripture has to say of these.
For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, andpierced themselvesthroughwithmanysorrows.
And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
Such is the full gospel!
