The truth behind the First Amendment is that you are only protected if your religion is recognized by the powers that be. So what if a bill has not yet become law? Does the bill ever die? How many times can a bill get put on a ballot before people realize that it will never pass? It may take many articles to answer all of these questions, but they will be tended too.
But for now I would like to examine the Equal Rights Amendment or “ERA” and the feminist movement which has damaged our culture so much. Don’t get me wrong, I do think that the bill is needed: however the interpretation of the bill must be redefined.
You see, “Feminists have long supported an Equal Rights Amendment to the U.S. Constitution that would provide equality under the law to both men and women:” however, we shall see who is screaming about equality as the ship starts to sink, then it will be women and children first. I don’t have a problem with the equality. However, since the National Women’s Party started in 1923, and became more insistent during the late 1960s, our family structure has been under attack. More and more woman are opting to get pregnant and raise the child with out including the father or even telling the man about the child. The Divorce rates have climbed to record highs in the passed 40 years according to the National Census Bureau. This may not have any connection but there are no coincidences.
“Many woman of this generation are raised from broken homes, most of the time by her mother. Which is fine until that young woman tries to have a meaningful relationship of her own with the opposite sex.” Says Dr. Sarah Sohrab., Ph.D., of the New England Journal of Medicine, in the 1987 issue. “Pornography Addictions are on the rise for both Men and Women, and I believe part of it can be attributed to a lack of a parental structure as our youth grows up” (Sohrab).
Over the passed 40 years Sex crimes have been on the rise with young men, who have no Father figure in their life. Once again they never learned to form lasting relationships and replace the sexual act with love. The truth is that the human psyche is developed in the preadolescence, but without both a father and a mother to contribute to the child’s up bringing, that child may never fully discover his or her identity. This person will most likely find his or her self in codependent relationships in one form or another for the rest of their life.
This is one of the ways the Women’s Liberation Movement has done America a great disservice for a multitude of generations.
