Christmas Cookies has come up with a winner here! If you enjoy peanut butter, these brownies may become your new favorite. Just as with blondies, there is no chocolate in this recipe.
Peanut Butter Brownies
- 1/2 cup peanut butter, smooth or chunky
- 1/3 cup butter or margarine
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 tsp almond extract
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
Combine peanut butter and butter, blend well.
Slowly add sugar and beat until light and fluffy.
Add eggs and beat well.
Stir in almond extract.
Combine flour, baking powder and salt.
Add dry mix to creamed mix and stir well.
Spread mixture evenly in a greased (or no-stick foil lined) 9 inch square baking dish.
Bake at 350* for 30 to 35 minutes.
Cool in pan and cut into 1 1/2 inch squares.
