If you enjoy peppermint patties, you may enjoy this mint patty recipe. These freeze well and seem to be a big hit at parties!
You can easliy make these festive and add food coloring to the milk and sugar mixture.
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk, 14 ounce
- 1/2 cap full of mint extract (use the cap on the mint extract bottle)
- 6 cups powdered sugar
- 16 ounces (1 bag) semi-sweet chocolate chips
In a large bowl, combine milk and extract. (If using coloring, add it now.)
Add suagr slowly while beating on low speed.
Line 2 cookie sheets with wax paper.
Roll dough into 1 inch balls and place on prepared sheets.
Flatten each ball to form a small disk shape.
Allow to dry on counter for 1 1/2 hours, then flip and allow other side to dry for 1 hour.
Melt chocolate in a glass bowl in microwave. Stir after 1 minute and place in for 30 seconds more or until melted. Stir every 30 seconds.
Use a spoon to spread chocolate over the top of each patty.
Allow to harden and store airtight at room temperature. If you are going to freeze them, place in plastic zip top bags and freeze.
