In a curious article http://news.yahoo.com/s/livescience/20101019/sc_livescience/endoftheearthpostponed we find that they’ve put off the end of the world to the chagrin of many hopefuls. Oh well. Better luck next time.
Rumor has it now that the end of the world will come in a few decades, or, if you hold your breath long enough, in about 100 years. This brings up an opportunity to this writer, currently residing in Albuquerque, to write on what is really happening in the heavens that may actually coincide with the updated Mayan grand finale.
Coming up, and almost no one knows this astronomical fact, we find that Earth’s polar axis is coming to exact alignment with the star Polaris in the year 2095. Now, what’s so special about that, the Mayan final days hysteria notwithstanding, you might ask. The answer to this question may be found in what developed in the world since the last pole star alignment in 2700 BC.
There are 17 fixed stars that mark the position of the earth’s pole. The earth’s pole moves in a circle among the stars that takes about 26,000 years to complete. While this motion is due to the procession of the equinoxes, the pole star alignments don’t take into account the zodiac signs Pisces, Aquarius and so on. The 17 pole stars include gamma, pi, xi, nu, and alpha Cephei; alpha and delta Cygni; alpha Lyrae; iota and tau Herculis; theta, iota and alpha Draconis; beta Ursae Minoris; kappa Draconis; alpha Ursa Minoris, and Polaris.
In 12,200 BC, alpha Lyrae (Vega) marked the pole; in 4,500 BC iota Draconis marked the pole; in 2700 BC alpha Draconis marked the pole, and in 2095 AD Polaris will mark the pole.
Beyond the upcoming polar event, we have in 11,300 AD delta Cygni marking the pole, in 13,500 AD alpha Lyrae marking the pole, and so on.
What makes 2095 so interesting is the fact that 2700 BC was a very important date in the world’s history. 2700 BC marked the founding of the 1st dynasty of Egypt under king Menes. Menes was the same as king Minos of Crete. 2700 BC also marked the full expanse of the first world empire under Sargon the Great, the father of Menes. This, in other words, marked the establishment of what we may now call the old world order, the order of empire. We are witness to the final stages of this old world order that now cloaks itself in the disguise called the New World Order, and this old New World Order is destined to dissolve under the coming conditions that are as yet unclear. The New World Order, in other words, is the sunset of the old world order. Between now and the beginning of the 22nd century there will be quite a fight in the world. The world is currently in a state of chaos and it will continue as a new principle of social organization develops toward and after the pole star alignment in 2095. What eventually works out will be a dynamic new principle of continuous evolution that will carry us to the next pole star alignment in 11,300 AD.
